Christmas is fast approaching and I managed to find an albino deer head to put up in the shop. The taxidermy is flawless and I plan to put a little red nose on top of it because I am festive.

People are begun their gift shopping already, and I have to restock the shelves much more often. It gives me less time to write but I don't mind.

I've been contemplating hiring a more full-time assistant and returning to teaching part-time as well next year. We'll see what happens.

It was warm for such a short time and now it's about to get cold again and I am not pleased. I might take a few days off from the shop and just sit at home with tea and a huge blanket, grumbling out the window at the weather. I am such a delight to be around in the winter.

Valentine's Day marks the end of the holiday period where the shop makes three times as much as it makes any other time of year. I enjoy all the people coming in and buying their partners very strange gifts. The requests I get never cease to amaze me. I love this job!

Hans, do you have any plans for Friday?

I need to get out of the city if it's going to be so cold. Maybe a venture to the Florida Keys is in order.

I seem to be developing a cough. I hope it doesn't end up becoming a full-on lung infection as they tend to be quite difficult to kick. This happens a few times a year and with how cold it's been, I'm not really surprised. A customer made me laugh yesterday and it caused me to cough so hard I backed up and knocked over a display of antique medical equipment. Luckily most of it was metal so nothing was ruined!

I might leave the shop to my employees for a few days and just rest up.

My birthday is coming up soon. I'll be 182, though there were several years in there I was quite dead.

I haven't decided if I should celebrate or not. It always feels a little strange to do so these days.

Someone tried to sell me a haunted doll today. I do get very weird things in the shop, but never a haunted doll before. I said no because I'm a little worried about the repercussions of such an item, but I have been asked if the antique dolls I do have on sale are haunted. Occasionally people look disappointed when I say no too.

I've finally cleaned out all the Christmas decorations as well which makes me feel a little sad. Now it's just cold and miserable instead of jolly and magical. I'll be happy when winter is over.
